Musicians have instruments, authors have a keyboard or a typewriter, and painters have brushes. Brushes – the environment used to transmit that in an artist’s soul, they – an exit. The big care should be placed in a choice of a correct brush for you.

I will reduce the right to prosecution here and I will tell to you that I use. The majority of my brushes – synthetic bristle brushes of different sizes. There are many synthetic brushes, but don’t purchase very cheap brushes.

Also accessible bristle brushes, such as a bristle of a hog. These natural white brushes of hair can be extended very long time, when you care about them properly. They are firm and keep paint well in bristles, but blows can look very picturesque if not be cautious. I personally do not use them often for this reason, and I have counted they are not so convenient in painting of people because of the bristles making the big impression on a canvas so in the big degree. Bristles of a hog are big really to apply a lot of paint and pushing it.

Some other good brushes – the sable brushes arriving from the animal same name, living in Northern Asia. These brushes of hair are very soft in contrast with bristle brushes, and are very elastic. Using bristles of a hog to apply color tons, these sable brushes can be used to draw details and small plots of color.

Brushes can be of many various forms:

- A round brush (which 90 % of my brushes, they are very universal and when used properly can draw very direct edges and the big plots of color, the help, it can be used to detail, and can be used also to mix up – its your one shop of a stop);

- Flat brushes (the square ends, I use the big apartments to draw ???? and other big areas);

- Bright brushes (with shorter bristles or hair);

- Filberts (take a flat brush and round edges inside a little, I at all do not possess one of them);

- Admirers (big for painting of pines and mixing);

- And small brushes of details (extremely tiny round brushes, many artists oppose using of such small brushes even for tiny details, but I have counted their invaluable in delivery of a detailed end-product).

All these brushes can be of various numbered sizes. It pays in general to have approximately 4 various rounds approaching very big, small flat, and the big flat, one or two bright and filberts mainly for details and the small plots, one admirer of the average size, and at least two very small brushes of details.

I am going to go forward and to include a painting knife in a category of brushes, seeing that it can be used to apply a paint. The knife – an invaluable part of the equipment also can be used for two reasons. One you can pass with only knife to mix your paint on your wooden palette, two you can actually draw with it. Painting with a knife – is a bit more than intermediate link, and I should attempt nevertheless all painting with it, but recently I used flat edge of a knife to draw all background. Remarkably for background when you do not want display of blows, the smooth sight, as heavens is faster. I also many times used edge or the tip of a knife to draw tiny thin lines, and microscopic – as details.
